In addition to the volunteer watchkeepers, there is a small army of volunteer Friends of Froward Point which organises a number of events and social activities to raise funds to go towards the cost of running the watchstation. Currently, our annual costs run at approximately £10,000.

In addition to attending 7 local events throughout the year, including providing refreshments at the watchstation, which raised a total of £1,208.88, the Friends organised a concert by the Brixham Orpheus Male Voice Choir, an Easter Tea Party at Alf Resco, a Summer Raffle with prizes donated by many local businesses and a wonderful evening Picnic Cruise on the iconic Kingswear Castle Paddle Steamer and these 4 raised another total of £3,113.11.
£955 was raised from the sale, mainly by watchkeepers, of our 2017 calendar and again this was sponsored by Valeport who are based at St. Peter’s Quay in Totnes.
The Friends have several yellow charity collection boxes placed with various local businesses (£990-77) and at the Lookout (£2124-66) which raised a total of £3,115.43. Therefore the total fundraising income for the year was £8,392.42.
